Is it a bird? Is it a plane? A shakuhachi? A fujara ? A digderidoo?
A Fujooku is the newly patented brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Clinton Beale. It is a single U-shaped pipe, constructed from bits of old plumbing implements, and is made to sound similar to at least three of the above when you blow into it from either end.
A composition has recently been completed using loops from this hybrid instrument (recorded while the paint was still wet!) and accompanied by Neil on four-string piccolo bass.
